Equality River is the route south of Castro Forest. It is the location of Rijon's seventh gym, the "Out of City Gym".

The gym is located in the south-east of the route, requiring Surf to reach. Its gym leader is Edward Reed, who uses Dark- and Ghost-type Pokémon at levels 42-50. Winning will award the player TM30 (Shadow Ball) and the White Badge.
